Adding casing to drywall return windows the mullion was cut to go up over the existing frame and meet up with the new window casing. it is thicker than the bottom edge of the window casing so we had to bevel the end at the top a little to match it up.. I want to drywall around my window frame instead of using trim. there is a gap about 2 1/2 inch between the drywall on the wall and drywall in the window (see picture). there is also 3/4 inch between the wall and window.. Spread joint compound over the corner bead, the corners where the drywall meets the sides of the window and drywall screw holes. let it dry, then sand it flush with the drywall. 8.
